News: October 2020

Dear Residents

By the time you read this we will be into October and hopefully back to our normal lives.

As I write, there are only 10 weeks left before Christmas and the “shopping season” has already started.

What do I mean by the shopping season?

Each year there is a surge in criminal activity before the holiday season. People tend to start relaxing as they plan their vacation either at home or away. Criminals know this. They prey on those who do not consistently keep their guard up.

Keep your property clean and clear of obstructions where criminals can hide. Keep your security gates locked. Make sure your alarm system is working and that your security company knows how to contact you.

Listen to your dogs, they bark and react differently in each situation. Act on it by switching lights on in your house.

Always make sure of your surroundings when you leave your home, office, shopping centre etc, and when you return. Always be mindful of being followed, especially returning home. Put your phone down at your destination and look around; too many victims only realise they have been followed and parked in when they stop and wait for their gate to open.

Keep your panic button close so you can press it and notify your security company to react. Be safe, watch, listen and report suspicious behaviour to the HCPF emergency number, Telegram groups and your street or block groups.

We can only stop this  wave by working together to make Henley on Klip safe for all of us. Get to know your neighbour, watch their back and they will do the same.

Stay safe.
