Chairman’s Report April 2023

We did our share in the national shutdown – next up, the Rotary Walk
Thank goodness the much-anticipated national shutdown on March 20 was without incident in our community. Our patrollers were involved in the extremely well-organised JOC that was set up in our district from the early hours of Sunday morning till Tuesday evening.
A huge thank you to SAPS, Midvaal Traffic and Fire, HCPF and all the other Meyerton CPF sectors; you all did an excellent and well-co-ordinated effort to keep our community secure and informed. Thank you to TJ de Klerk for running our Command Centre during this time to ensure the community was updated 24/7 with all the correct information.
April means Easter and the village is aflutter with ribbons and decorations. Next up is the Rotary fun run/ walk on April 27, so put on your walking shoes and support the cause, young, old, fit or not.
The Rotary Club of Henley on Klip have pledged the proceeds of this event as a much-needed donation towards our current project to get solar power at the HCPF Command Centre (HCC).
We have managed to source cameras for several identified crime hotspots, but with loadshedding as the new norm a steady power supply at the HCC is now essential. Any support on any level would be much appreciated.
Funding will also be needed to install the cameras.
Winter is on its way, so be sure to stay warm and cosy.
