HCPF CCTV

As you leave the R59 and enter Henley on Klip down Henley Drive and turn into Ewelme Street, you will see the green and white park home of the local CPF. It is clearly marked: Henley on Klip Community Police Forum Command Centre. When it is manned on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00, the South African flag flies outside.

For some months, after a tree fell on the park home on Valentine’s Day, it was a dump, but now it greets visitors in true Henley style with a border of lavender and iceberg roses, thanks to Steve Endley who gave the stone pots, Rudi Mckeown who filled them with compost and Irma Coetzee who donated the plants. So stop by and smell the roses.

The palisade is now painted and complete, thanks to Hettie and Reinier Fourie of CSS Engineering, the braai smashed by the tree was rebuilt by Bruce Garner and his team (tiling to come), the plumbing was donated by Vic of Midvaal PWS and Steve Endley has made sure the ladies can be seated comfortably.

As the HCPF Patrol group has grown, chairs were needed for meetings and training sessions. We thank TJ de Klerk, Silver Shabalala, Rudi Mckeown and Steve Endley for the 30 new chairs.

One problem: without the tree canopy the HCC will be uncomfortably hot in the summer sun; in fact, the boeries will hardly need a fire to sizzle. It has been estimated that R11 000 is needed for a lapa, or some form of covering … if anyone can assist, please contact Steve Endley on 081 013 2182.

The HCPF is made up of volunteers and is purely dependent on donations and fund-raising. The next event is the Boom Box music competition evening, held annually before Covid-19, on Friday 30 September. Brush up your music, select your team and join the fun!
